Privacy

The short version: we use what you send us to answer your enquiry, it goes to Dan’s own mailbox, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anybody.

Who we are

What we collect, and when

Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your email address, the dates you are asking about, your party size, and anything you write in the last field. The form also records which page you sent it from — a path such as /tours/glen-affric/, which contains nothing about you.

We do not ask for a postal address, a phone number, or payment details, and the site never collects them. Nothing you type is ever put into a web address, so your details do not appear in your browser history or in our analytics.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Because you asked us a question and we cannot answer it otherwise. In UK GDPR terms this is legitimate interests for replying to an enquiry, and, once a day is agreed, performance of a contract. We do not rely on consent, because we do not do anything with it that needs consent.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into a booking are deleted after twelve months. Where a day actually ran, we keep the correspondence for six years, because HMRC expects business records to be retained for that long.

Who else sees it

Three companies, and only as far as they have to:

• Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the small piece of software that receives the form. Your submission passes through it and is not stored there.
• Resend delivers the two emails — the one to us and the confirmation to you.
• Our email provider, where the enquiry lands and stays.

Nobody else. We do not sell data, we do not share it with tour platforms or travel agents without asking you first, and we run no advertising pixels of any kind.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies. Analytics are handled by Plausible, which counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without collecting anything that identifies you — which is why there is no cookie banner in your way. All of it is aggregate: we can see that a page was read, not who read it.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do it within a month. Email silentglentours@gmail.com and say which. You do not have to give a reason.

If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first and we will try to put it right. If that does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything about them. Where children are travelling with you, we hold only what you choose to tell us in the last field of the form, and it is deleted with the rest of the enquiry.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no archive; if you need to know what it said before, ask and we will tell you.
